Post 2: connections

There are many aspects of life. And one of the aspects in life is making friends and meaningful connections. It's is one of the thing about which I think about a lot. So, the idea is simple, you go out, interact and make friends. Its very hard specially, if you are someone like me, an introvert. And this hurt my growth a lot, specially in my 1st and 2nd year of my college. I am an introvert and not used to reach out to people. Now trust me, I m still like this, but situation is much better now. I'm not going to share something crazy, it is just efforts.

It all started when I start posting on twitter with the thought that who cares, I'm just a random person, no one knows me. I start interacting with people in comments, start gaining followers. After many interactions, it become easy for me. When I slid into someone's dm, I took a hours to create that message, I was asking for advice on what to do. But it was worth, when I got the reply. Then in the second dm, I was much confident. I also left some meaning comments below people's post and they slid into my dm hehe :). This was a huge confidence builder. With every conversation, it became more easy and comforting. Nowadays, I just say "yo, wassup wassup bro" in dms lol.

It is the same case with cold mails. It was very hard at first, took me hours and now it hardly take 10 minutes.

Now I have a philosophy, never remember someone only when you have work. I always try to stay in touch with people and one of the way is that I keep texting them on random intervals, asking what they are cooking. Another way, interact with their post. This help me to build my connections stronger with that person.

All the above I wrote is related to online connections. But offline connections are much more stronger. For a very long time, I never text someone for a meet, no matter how cool their stuff was. The reason for this was that I was never confident. This changed one day, when @itskavin(smart guy btw) texted me for a meet-up and this changed a lot for me. It was a mega confidence booster. After that, if I found someone's work cool and if it is possible to meet, I will just dm them. simple. Its not that hard(follow 5-second rule).

My attitude has changed a lot regarding this in the past few months. I don't care now, if they think I'm dumb. Every person will always taught you something. Don't be afraid. Online or offline, no matter, these friends helps me a lot in many thing. A friend forces me to apply for an intern and that's how I got my first intern. Many such examples. I hope I am equally valuable to them and not a noise in their life. Just do it.

Till next time✌️
